The fourth annual Vegas Rocks! Magazine Music Awards rocked The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas Sunday night with some of the most legendary rock artists in the music business (Pictured: Carl Palmer and Jon Anderson – Photo credit: John Olson).

Honorees included Jon Anderson (Yes) who was honored with the “Voice Of Progressive Music” Award, Carl Palmer (Emerson Lake & Palmer/ Asia) received the “Drum Legend Icon” Award, DJ Ashba presented Zakk Wylde (Ozzy) with the “Riff Monster” Award and newcomer Laura Wilde received “Best New Female Artist” Award. The event also featured local rock artists and bands from Las Vegas and California, many of whom took home awards in various rock categories.

Performances included Geoff Tate’s Queensryche who opened the show, Carl Palmer performed a historic ELP Song with Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater and Rudy Sarzo (Dio/ Quiet Riot). Jon Anderson performed an acoustic performance, including one song in which he was joined by Carl Palmer on percussion.

The event was co-hosted by the Publishing Queen of Rock n’ Roll, Sally Steele, Vegas Rocks! Magazine Publisher/ Founder/ CEO and James Kottak from the Scorpions. The event was preceded by a huge Rock n’ Roll Royal Red Carpet media event with appearances that included Chris Holmes (W.A.S.P.), Jeff Young (Megadeth), Ron Jeremy, Danny “The Count” Koker, Frankie Moreno, “Raiding The Rock Vault” artists/ performers John Payne, Paul Shortino, Howard Leese, Tracii Guns, Robin McAuley, Andrew Freeman, Jay Schellen and Michael T. Ross, Jizzy Pearl, comedian Craig Gass, Murray the Magician, Chris Phillips (Zowie Bowie), Ron Keel, Marvelless Mark, Stacey Blades (LA Guns) and many others, most of whom also participated in the show.

The All-Star Celebrity Jam for the finale of the show included Geoff Tate’s Queensryche, Jon Anderson, Dj Ashba, Simon Wright (AC/DC) James Kottak (the Scorpions) and most of the participants and honorees from the show. The event was live streamed across the globe on Stageit.com. This was truly a night to remember for rock n’ roll.
