Reportedly 1,500 runners showed up at the inaugural Sprinkler Sprint 5K at 7 AM Saturday morning in downtown Las Vegas. A fairly successful turn out given that it was a locally organized event. As you can see, the runners and volunteers had a great time! (Photo credit: khanhx.com).

The run was put on by the Downtown Runners group founded by Tanya Carrier. The event started and finished at Las Vegas Academy. Runners were treated to 5 water features including a Misting Tunnel, Water Cannon Zone, Super Soaker Zone, Popsicle Stop, and last but not least, the Slip ‘n Slide Finish.

The Sprinkler Sprint was sponsored by big names such as Zappos, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, El Cortez Hotel & Casino, as well as many local small businesses.
Photographer Khanh Nguyen said, “My sons and I were volunteers for the event. We doused runners with water at the Super Soaker Zone while dressed as ninjas.”
