On Thursday, November 13, an evening of select delicacies and wonderful wines will once again help raise funds for students in the hospitality program at the College of Southern Nevada.
Since 2004 DeLuca Liquor & Wine, Ltd., a strong supporter of higher education in our community has worked with the CSN Foundation to present The Great Las Vegas Steakout. Admission to the event is $150.00 benefiting the students at the College of Southern Nevada through the DeLuca Liquor & Wine, Ltd. Hospitality Education Scholarship fund.
The November event will be hosted by Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres start at 7 p.m. followed by an exclusively crafted five-course dinner that will be served with specially selected Duckhorn Wines.
Since its inception this event has provided more than $200,000 in new scholarship funds to help CSN students pursue an education in the hospitality industry. Not only does The Great Steakout provide needed scholarships, the event provides students opportunities for pubic speaking and to meet and work with some of the finest chefs in Las Vegas.

Passed Hors d’oeuvres: Served with 2005 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir – Duck Confit with Wild Mushrooms and Goat Cheese Crostini Topped with Marinated Fig and Balsamic Reduction Served with Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot 2005 – Ahi Tuna on a Cucumber with Spicy Beer Mustard Sauce, Cilantro and Pickled Ginger
Second Course: Served with 2007 Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc – Seared Scallop with Garlic Lemon Buerre Blanc and Fried Leeks
Third Course: Served with 2005 Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon– Two Sliced Medallions of Filet with Pesto and Strawberry Merlot Sauce and Pastry Puff Garnished with Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese and Basil
Fourth Course: 2005 Paraduxx Napa Valley Red Wine – Lamb Melinas Accompanied by a Mixed Green Salad, Smoked Gouda, Prosciutto, Hearts of Palm, Sun-dried Tomato Vinaigrette and Drizzled with Port Wine Syrup
Dessert: Roasted Pear Cheesecake Accented with Infused Frangelica, Swiss Buttercream Englace
