Norwegian group Highasakite will be performing on Saturday, March 22, at Vinyl inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to promote their forthcoming full-length debut, The Silent Treatment, coming out in April. Show is at 8pm.
Also performing will be London Grammar, a British trip-hop trio.
Highasakite performs ‘Since Last Wednesday’ at the Norwegian Grammys
Highasakite just performed at SXSW, earning one of NPR’s Picks for one of their highlights from the festival, and previously earned rave reviews at Oslo’s Øya Festival from Pitchfork, NME, Paste, and even Bon Iver, who said “beautiful music from Highasakite… this was a crazy band. I loved it!”
They’ve been nominated for a Norwegian Grammy as ‘Best Newcomer,’ and have toured all over Europe, hitting Iceland Airwaves, The Great Escape, and Reeperbahn, and are currently on a US tour with London Grammar. Frontwoman Ingrid Helene Havik really shines on their new album, singing in her signature low-register vocals while plucking the zither, influenced by themes of the American West, as well as the unusual vocal techniques of Bulgarian folk singers.
