The giraffe is being welcomed and kissed by owner and caretaker of the over 47 lions, Keith Evans. The Lion Habitat Ranch is on a quest to become a zoo and is pleased to welcome the first giraffe in Nevada. They are asking the community to help name him! (He is currently 10 feet tall).

As of this week, the Lion Habitat Ranch obtained its 501 (c)(3) status which will allow them to receive for donations and hopefully to expand its hours and site to provide an educational facility to educate children about the animals. It costs more than $20,000 a month to feed the animals.

The public can view the animals Friday – Monday 10am – 2pm. The giraffe will be available for interaction in October and soon the public can feed him, just as guests can feed the lions (for an added fee).
