A vigorous trio of comedians has taken over the stage at the Laugh Factory this week (Oct. 6-12), inside the New Tropicana Hotel, with Bob Zany headlining what is sure to be a “Madcap” night of zingers.
Assisting Zany is Felicia Michaels, who never holds back on subjects dear to her, and hosting the evening is Las Vegas resident, Penny Prince. Show times are 8:30 and 10:30 p.m., nightly.
Bob Zany is wry, sarcastic, insulting, lovable, who lives up to his name… zany! Bob has appeared on over a thousand national TV shows from, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” to a 17-year stint co-hosting “The Jerry Lewis Telethon.” It all got started for Zany, when in 1977, at the tender age of 15, the native Southern Californian appeared on the infamous Gong Show. Halfway through his stand-up routine, which he read from a piece of paper, he was pulled off the stage by a man dressed like a nun wielding a net. Eleven years later, he made a triumphant return as a celebrity judge. Bob has appeared in numerous films, including “Joe Dirt,” with David Spade, and he played Matt Damon’s attorney in Stephen Soderbergh’s, “The Informant.” According to the Los Angeles Times, “He simply reaches into a bottomless grab bag of jokes. It’s like watching Magic Johnson lead a fast break – so smooth and effortless that it would be easy to overlook just how much talent and skill is behind the process. He’s also a naturally funny guy, a distinction at a time when stand-up is cluttered with people who aren’t.”
An “Army Brat,” who was used to moving about, Felicia Michaels built her early career by refusing to allow her gender to tame her material, and never once flinching when it came to the rigorous travel and TV schedule that a stand-up comedy career demands. She has appeared on networks such as MTV, A&E, Comedy Central, VH1 and Showtime. Michaels was nominated twice as Funniest Female by the American Comedy Awards, before winning it, and also received a Best Comedy Podcast nomination from the Podcast Awards in 2012, for the hit underground podcast “Beauty and Da Beast,” with fellow comic Joey “Coco” Diaz. She explores such topics as the dynamics of the male/female relationship, “dirty thoughts,” and the proliferation of the sensual feminist. She has appeared in three movies: “Smart Alex,” “Los Enchiladas and most recently “I Am Comic.”. She once posed nude for Playboy Magazine,
Amazingly hysterical” and “outrageous” are just some of the adjectives used to describe Penny Prince, and his rapid fire act. For years, Penny has entertained audiences big and small with his dead-on impressions, and wickedly funny observations. He started his comedy journey in Northern California, and quickly gained a reputation for his ability to impersonate just about anyone. He currently resides in Las Vegas, where he served as the house MC for three-years in the hit burlesque/comedy show, “Sin City Comedy.” He has also been seen on, NBC’s “Animal Planet,” and on “Comedy Central.” He has performed with Andrew Dice Clay, Mark Curry, and Ron White.
