Music and fashion have always gone hand in hand, and with the launch of Musical T’s, the connection solidifies its place in history with the introduction of technology to the design mix.
Fashion designer and rock royalty Astrella will debut her new designs on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Foxtail Pool at SLS Las Vegas with an official launch party, just as the collection expands to Bloomingdale’s locations in Los Angeles and New York City.
The Musical T’s brand is a hybrid of fashion, music, art, design, technology and philanthropy created to provide an entirely unique, multi-faceted clothing experience. Astrella, daughter to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Donovan, created this collection of lavish t-shirts based on iconic album artwork from artists including Elton John, Miles Davis, Queen, Cyndi Lauper, The Vandals and more. Working with 100% organic fabrics and lovingly handmade in Hollywood, Calif., the collection re-imagines iconic album artwork, while simultaneously allowing consumers to download the full album associated with the t-shirt design by scanning the digital gate (NFC or QR Code) unlocking an entire musical experience online including videos, photos, memorabilia, interviews and more. A percentage of the proceeds from each design sold is donated to a charity hand selected by the featured artist or their estate.

On Monday, August 17, guests will be treated to a night of music, art and fashion as the new line debuts amidst a fashion show featuring hot designers and live musical performances. The event is free for MAGIC attendees who can enter with their badge. A limited number of tickets will be available to the public at $22 per ticket, plus applicable fees, and available at www.FoxtailLasVegas.com. The event also highlights its charitable partner, Recovery Branches, a non-profit organization providing support activities for those in recovery from addiction, with a focus on music, art, sports and other activities in order to make life in recovery fulfilling. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail party and exhibit featuring the collaborative art of Miguel Paredes, an innovative pop-artist, and Michael Turchin, an artist with a modern take on retro celebrity-driven pop art, as they recreate the iconic album cover imagery found on Musical T’s from Queen, Elton John, The WHO, Ray Charles, The Vandals and more. These massive screen paintings, hand embellished by Paredes are “1 of 1” originals signed by Astrella, Paredes, Turchin and the musicians themselves making these incredible canvases priceless and unique. The event, hosted by Astrella and Parades will also feature musician Lance Bass as the emcee and electronic artist Carmen Rizzo providing the tunes.
Guests will then be wowed at the Foxtail Pool during the fashion show produced by Susan Stein Style. The event will showcase the new line of Musical T’s, as well as contemporary collections by designers including the event’s featured red carpet designer Michael Costello of Project Runway fame who highlights the show with his Fall 2016 Capsule Collection. Additionally, Band of Gypsies, Romeo + Juliet Couture, Bella Dahl, D.J. Ashba, Claudia Lua, Dr. Martens and others will showcase their fashions. The show is set to a live soundtrack by a star-studded band put together just for this event by Music Director Danny Saber (Rolling Stones, U2, Madonna) including musicians Bob Forrest (Thelonious Monster), Stevie D (Buckcherry), Kelly LeMieux (Buckcherry), Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction) and Amp Fiddler (Parliament). Other specials guests include MC Lyte, Kevin Martin (Candlebox), Dave Krusen (Pearl Jam), Kemo the Blaxican (Delinquent Habits) and Rob Patterson (Korn). DJ Chris Carter from Breakfast With The Beatles will provide additional music during the fashion event.
Cypress Hill’s B Real will take over the DJ set for the official after party.
