Overlooking the heart of The Strip, guests enjoyed ice skating, light snow showers, roasting s’mores by the fire, curated cocktails, seasonal culinary offerings and performances by pro figure skaters throughout the evening.

In honor of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, The Cosmopolitan and Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation came together to put on Ice Out Cancer Over Vegas. The evening event was hosted by Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton along with world and U.S. figure skating champions Tai Babilonia and Randy Gardner. The event featured figure skating performances by British national champion Steven Cousins, world and U.S. national champion Kimmie Meissner and many others. Guests were invited to skate with the pro figure skaters and get their autographs as well as participate in a silent auction benefiting the nonprofit. A portion of proceeds from the evening were donated to the Las Vegas chapter of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

This year, The Ice Rink features ‘Date Skate’ Mondays where classic movies are shown on the resort’s digital marquee, ‘Industry Skate on The Strip’ Wednesdays where DJ’s turn the rink into unique outdoor nightlife experience, and ‘Throwback Thursdays’ complete with music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

Guests can enjoy cocktails such as the signature Campfire Delight and wintery snacks including the immensely popular fireside s’mores kit. Snow flurries occur every 30 minutes Wednesday – Sunday evenings between 6 and 10 p.m. throughout December.

The Ice Rink is open now through Jan. 3. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 3 p.m. to midnight and Saturday – Sunday from noon to midnight. Special holiday hours of noon to midnight will be in effect Dec. 19 – Jan. 3. All day skating access is $15, and from Monday – Friday, all day skating access for Nevada residents is $10.

Visitors are allowed to bring their own skates or can rent a pair for $5. Skate aid rentals are also available for $10. Admission to the unique winter atmosphere surrounding The Ice Rink is free.

Guests are invited to ring in the New Year once again at The Ice Rink’s New Year’s Eve Party, which will feature music selections by DJ Yo Yolie, curated cocktails, seasonal food offerings and breathtaking views of the midnight fireworks. A limited number of early bird tickets are available for $20, and regular priced tickets are $30. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com or through Ticketmaster at 800.745.3000. Hotel guests will receive complimentary access to The Ice Rink event with a valid hotel key. Season passes will not be honored at the event. Cabana and fire pit reservations with premium bottle service are also available for the best view of the fireworks and can be reserved by emailing [email protected]. You must be 21 or older to reserve a fire pit.
