In true Las Vegas fashion, resorts across the city are honoring the Year of the Monkey with a series of festive events. The monkey symbolizes intelligence, playfulness and curiosity (Pictured: Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens).
Staying true to the legend, Vegas’ celebrations include thrilling entertainment, beautiful displays and one-of-a-kind retail items that spark wonder and conversation.
Enchanting Displays – Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens transports visitors to a majestic garden filled with vibrant floral displays, Chinese children topiaries made of 5,000 flower stems and monkeys gathering peaches below and atop a towering 14-foot mountain. Guests receive a warm welcome at ARIA’s front desk by Fuk, Luk and Sau – Chinese deities representing happiness, wealth and longevity – along with a magnificent 229-foot dragon in the main lobby. Additionally, The Shops at Crystals, the world’s only retail destination exclusively dedicated to luxury designers, has transformed its flower carpet into a magical forest overseen by a 12-foot-tall golden-coated monkey sitting atop a bed of gold coins.
Exotic Cuisine – Savor the flavors of authentic Far East cuisine in the finest restaurants Las Vegas has to offer. Indulge in steamy BBQ pork buns, creamy bird’s nest egg custards and baijiu cocktails at ARIA’s authentic Chinese restaurant, Blossom . In honor of the holiday, Jasmine at Bellagio features a traditional dim sum menu with an array of delicious dishes including Steamed Golden Oyster and Sea Moss and Breaded Stuffed Crab Claw with Shrimp Pasta. The Grand Wok and Sushi Bar at MGM Grand offers a special menu featuring pan-fried filet mignon, braised sea bass and sesame mochi with bean powder.
Rare Gems – Incredible Lunar New Year pieces from fashion’s biggest names made their debut at The Shops at Crystals. Fendi introduced a collection of sophisticated leather handbags and accessories in bright red and gold hues with velvety textures to correlate with the holiday’s primary colors. Watch master Harry Winston unveiled a limited-edition handcrafted timepiece of a whimsical monkey, while European watchmaker Tourbillon delighted guests with intricately etched monkeys on its luxury watches. Gucci revealed a rare keychain of a monkey adorned with gold and pearls to celebrate the holiday. LALIQUE is commemorating the occasion with holiday ornaments of the three wise monkeys in stain-finished gold luster crystal.
