Renowned performer Peter Cetera, a founding member of the legendary rock band Chicago, is returning to Las Vegas for a special performance under the stars at the spacious outdoor Sunset Amphitheater at Sunset Station on Friday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m.
Located poolside at Sunset Station, tickets for Peter Cetera are available for purchase Friday, June 10 at 10 a.m.
An original member of legendary rock band Chicago, Peter Cetera began his music career at 11 years old when his parents purchased him an accordion. Cetera came to prominence in the late 1960s after joining the band The Big Thing, who later changed their name to The Chicago Transit Authority, which was then shorted to Chicago. After providing lead vocals on three songs on the band’s debut album, the band jumped back in the studio and released their eponymously-titled album in 1969. The album, which featured the hit single “25 or 6 to 4,” which peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became the first hit single with Cetera singing lead vocals.
After several more successful albums with Chicago in the 1970s, Cetera released his debut solo album in 1981. His sophomore album Solitude/Solitaire was released in 1986 and featured the smash hit “Glory of Love,” which was used as the theme song for the movie “The Karate Kid, Party II,” climbed atop the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts and was nominated for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for “Best Original Song,” as well as a Grammy Award for “Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Male Artist.” Other singles include “The Next Time I Fall,” which once again peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts, “One Good Woman” and “Restless Heart,” among others. In 2016, Cetera was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a member of Chicago.
