Aquae Sulis Spa Customizes Workouts for the Traveler and Local Guest

Aquae Sulis Spa offers state-of-the-art fitness facilities including an extensive fitness class menu with unique treatments customized to all levels of workout. The spa features over 10,000 square feet of gym space and an adjoining motion studio as well as a Zen garden where fitness classes are conducted, weather permitting. The gym floor showcases Cybex strength equipment, elliptical, treadmills, bikes, Stairmasters and free weights and all cardiovascular equipment comes equipped with its own entertainment system. Personal trainers are available by appointment only.

The team of class instructors has extensive experience offering daily one-hour classes (unless otherwise specified) which include:

Abs – A ½ hour of abdominal work set to high-energy music. Class focuses on all abdominal areas.

Basic Hawaiian Hula – Traditional Hawaiian Hula methods are taught while encouraging expression and originality.

Belly Dancing – Experience the Goddess within through the sensuous art of Belly Dance. This class helps stimulate the mind and emphasizes total body power.

Buns, Core and More – Balance the inside while reshaping the outside as muscles are defined and toned through various resistance movements, sculpting core strengths.

Intro to Belly Dancing – Great for beginning students, the teaching method used is stylized to stimulate creativity and build strength and awareness of your unique femininity.

Intro to Zumba – A fun and effective workout designed to tone the entire body incorporating a combination of fast and slow dance moves to Latin music.

Spin – This indoor cycling class emphasizes a balance between physical and mental exercise. Combining basic cycling movements to the beat of energizing music, the instructor motivates and coaches while leading the session.

Tae Known-Do – Physical fitness and general health are improved through the art of self-defense, creating mental discipline and poise and stamina.

Yoga -Taught by a certified member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, this class coordinates stretching and breathing techniques to open and stimulate the mind, detoxify the body, and replenish energy.

“Like our menu of spa services, we are constantly updating our fitness classes to meet the needs of our clients,” said Nichole Pfeifer, Aquae Sulis Spa assistant director. “Fitness trends are forever changing and we like to mix it up as well, offering unique classes like Zumba, Belly Dancing and Hawaiian Hula.”

Aquae Sulis Spa is open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and personal training classes can be arranged by calling (702) 869-7807. All fitness facilities, including classes are offered complimentary with the booking of a spa treatment, excluding waxing. The drop-in fee for resort guests is $25 per day and $45 per day for non-resort guests.
