Jimmy Walker, winner of the 2016 PGA Championship, “teed up” the celebration of his first major title and headed west for a whirlwind, one-night-only Las Vegas victory tour on Tuesday, Aug. 2 (Pictured: Hyde Bellagio congratulates Jimmy Walker on his PGA Championship win – Photo courtesy Hyde Bellagio).
Walker and his group, which included his wife, Erin, and several close friends, flew to Las Vegas via private jet and enjoyed a champagne toast while en route. Bellagio Resort & Casino rolled out the “green carpet” when the group arrived at the resort’s luxurious Bellagio Villas.
After quickly dropping off their bags, the group headed to The Park, Las Vegas’ newest outdoor entertainment and dining destination, for an intimate reception at Beerhaus. Immediately following the reception, the group headed to dinner at Harvest by Roy Ellamar at Bellagio where Walker and his friends were greeted by Chef Roy, the restaurant’s Executive Chef.
After dining on Harvest’s sustainable cuisine, Walker made his way to Hyde Bellagio where he was welcomed by the nightlife venue’s staff who displayed larger-than-life letters spelling out his name and celebrating his wire-to-wire victory. As part of his Hyde experience, Walker was able to play The Fountains of Bellagio show of his choice as well as press the button that triggered the dancing fountains.
Along for the ride was the infamous Wanamaker Trophy which accompanied Walker and his group throughout the evening.
Texas native Jimmy Walker turned pro in 2001 after attending Baylor University. He is one of 11 PGA and LPGA TOUR players who are brand ambassadors for MGM Resorts International. Other players include Ryan Moore, Scott Piercy, Graham DeLaet and Jhonattan Vegas, among others.
