The Walter Hoving Home will host their 10th Anniversary Gala to support program ministry and bring public awareness to the scourge of drug addiction that plagues our community. The gala will be held on Oct. 20, starting at 6:00 p.m. JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa at 221 North Rampart Blvd.
Entertainment will include gospel recording artist Annie Meadows. Master of ceremonies is Dave Courvoisier of Channel 8 News. Dinner and program includes gourmet meal, performance by the Sounds of Hope choir and personal stories shared by ladies of the Walter Hoving Home.
Raffle prizes available including sports memorabilia, travel accommodations and electronics. Wall of diamonds gift card raffle available for purchase during the event, gift cards valued from $25-100.
Individual tickets are $100 or a table of ten for $1,000. Early bird pricing of $80 per ticket or $800 per table is available if purchased by Sep. 20. “Funds raised from our gala are vital to the Walter Hoving Home and to rebuilding the lives of shattered women,” says Sylvia Marchael, executive director of Walter Hoving Las Vegas home. “The home is not a rehabilitation center but a Christ-centered transformation program. These ladies are learning valuable life changing principles that will forever impact the rest of their lives.”
Walter Hoving Home receives no government funding. The home is funded through private donations, including individuals, churches, corporations and foundations. Each year the home holds special events such as a walkathon, phonathon, Phantom Fireworks, and a banquet.
The Walter Hoving Home was founded 50 years ago in Garrison NY by Rev. John and Elsie Benton. Currently there are three homes, serving 132 women in in Las Vegas, Pasadena, CA, and Garrison, NY. The home has been serving women in the Las Vegas community since 2006. The purpose of the program is to help women become free from addictions and other life-controlling problems.
