Earlier today (Wednesday, June 14), Russian boxer Sergey Kovalev stopped by Red Square Restaurant inside Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino for a photo opportunity with the Las Vegas Golden Knights (Photo credit: Aaron Garcia).
In Vegas for his light heavyweight fight against Andre Ward, Kovalev, was welcomed by Golden Knights’ Vice President of Communications Eric Tosi. Tosi presented Kovalev with a Golden Knights hockey stick and invited the boxer to sign a commemorative welcome card for the team as it prepares for its inaugural season.
The Russian native and huge hockey fan, dressed casually in a black t-shirt and black gym shorts, spoke to reporters about his upcoming fight as well as his love of hockey and his excitement for the Golden Knights to play in Las Vegas. Kovalev was in good spirits as he posed for photos with some fans before leaving the restaurant to continue preparing for his fight.
