As the middle of 2017 approaches, Brooklyn based, funk party powerhouse Turkuaz is thrilled to announce that their plans for the Fall will commence with a return to the West Coast, including a stop at The Toyota Yard inside Topgolf Las Vegas on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017 at 8 p.m. with special guests Organ Freeman. Tickets are $20, plus applicable taxes and fees, and are on sale now.
By the time the September outing hits, the group will have finished a landmark summer including debuts at Bonnaroo, Red Rocks, Camp Bisco, Northwest Strings Summit, Floyd Fest and more. Other notable summer stops include Funk Of Ages with Lettuce and Snarky Puppy at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA in June, and a Phish Baker’s Dozen After-Party at Irving Plaza in New York City in July.
Off the road, the nine-piece has been working on new material and spent time in May at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, NY with Jerry Harrison of The Talking Heads in the producer’s chair.
Turkuaz is a nine-piece “Powerfunk” outfit from Brooklyn, NY, whose modern take on the classic funk sound has established them as leaders in the funk revolution that’s currently taking place in the genre. Blending elements of Pop, R&B, and Soul with their distinct aggressive funk core,
Turkuaz sounds like the musical love child of Sly & the Family Stone and Talking Heads.
The group’s constant touring since 2012 has earned them a passionate and dedicated national fan base that’s consistently growing. A dance band at their roots, Turkuaz’s live shows are high-energy, floor-shaking, visually appealing events filled with colorful clothing and choreographed dance moves that always leave attendees wanting more.
Doors for Turkuaz will open at 7 p.m. and show time is 8 p.m. To purchase tickets, please visit www.topgolf.com/lasvegas, call Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000 or visit www.ticketmaster.com.
