Kevin Smith Brings Smodcast, Comedy and Debauchery to The Pearl Nov. 12-13

The Palms Casino Resort has announced two special nights with award-winning comedian/writer/director Kevin Smith at The Pearl Concert Theater on Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $39 and $59, plus additional fees. A limited amount of VIP tickets are available for $99, plus fees, which include a meet and greet with Smith.

Kevin Smith, known for writing, directing and appearing in films, including Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jersey Girl, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Zac and Miri Make a Porno and Cop Out, brings his hilarious antics and revelry to The Pearl with two distinctly entertaining performances.

Friday night features Jay & Silent Bob Go All In, with three of Smith’s most popular podcasts. SModcast 3D, the live version of his weekly podcast with producer Scott Mosier, Jay & Silent Bob Get Old with special guest actor Jason Mewes and Blowhard with filmmaker Malcolm Ingram. Saturday night will feature An Evening with Kevin Smith, a hilarious Q&A session with Smith, which has sold out venues from the Sydney Opera House to the Piccadilly in London.

This event is a part of the official Kevin Smith auction, Kevin Smith Sells Out: The Official Askewniverse Garage Sale! produced by Propworx, Hollywood’s premier studio auction house. Propworx will have hundreds of props, costumes and set pieces from Smith’s hit movies, as well as a substantial amount of original art from Smith’s comics. Everything will be on display during the event in a museum-style setting, so fans can see every single one of the lots that will be on the auction block. In addition to his film credits, Smith also sports three DVD releases of his various Q&A’s and has published two books full of essays and blog postings, including the New York Times Best Selling My Boring-Ass Life. Smith has also written for both of the major comic book giants DC and Marvel.

Aside from the films he’s directed, Smith has served as a producer on indie efforts including Bryan Johnson’s Lion’s Gate release Vulgar, a multiple Academy Award winner Good Will Hunting and a pair of Sundance-selected documentaries Reel Paradise and Small Town Gay Bar.

In addition to filmmaking, Smith occasionally moonlights as an actor, appearing in Live Free or Die Hard and Catch and Release. Smith was one of the first to utilize cyberspace to build a large and loyal fan base via the 13-year-old binary village at www.viewaskew.com.
