English singer-songwriter and guitarist, Noel Gallagher, is most well-known as the lead guitarist of rock band Oasis. Raised in Manchester, Gallagher began learning guitar at the age of 13 and after a series of odd jobs in construction eventually landed a role as a roadie and technician in 1988 for local Manchester band Inspiral Carpets. While touring with this band, he and his brother Liam Gallagher eventually formed a band of their own, known as The Rain, which eventually became the hit rock band Oasis. The band went on to win the Best British Newcomer at the BRIT Awards in 1995 and released seven studio albums throughout the years. Eventually, Noel Gallagher left the band and formed his own rock band in 2010 as part of his solo project. The band released their second album, Chasing Yesterday, in 2015 which topped the UK Albums Chart in its first week of release.
