For hair, loose curls are the hottest trend. When worn down, curls should fall naturally down the back, while the half-up look can be achieved by clipping the hair just above the ears, adjusting the clip for volume. To achieve flawless loose curls, Baruk suggests using a curling iron that is 1 ½ – 2” in diameter, and starting the curl about three quarters down from the root, leaving the bottom 1 – 2” straight. To dress up styles, Baruk suggests using hair accessories for an elegant finish.

To achieve longer more dramatic curls, Baruk adds length with his preferred technique, cold hair extensions. “Fusing real hair to a keratin-based extension with a cool applicator, rather than straight heat, has proven to be the healthiest treatment for hair, as well as the most natural look,” said Baruk.
For makeup and manicures, metallic colors remain popular for the holidays. “Think of bright lights and ornaments,” says Baruk. “Rose gold is a beautiful color on the lids or the nails; it adds a festive sparkle.” On New Year’s Eve, Baruk suggests a more glamourous look for hair with extra volume on top and a ponytail or loose waves draped to the side, complemented by glowing skin, a bold lip and dramatic wispy lashes.
