Aquarius Casino Hosts “Bids for Kids” Auction to Benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Colorado River

Aquarius Casino Resort is proud to present the 19th Annual “Bids for Kids” Auction to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River. “Bids for Kids” is the largest fund raising event of the year and will benefit the youth of Bullhead City, Ariz., Fort Mohave, Ariz. and Laughlin, Nev. “Bids for Kids” will be held on Saturday, February 6 in the Aquarius Pavilion with doors opening at 4:30 p.m.

Along with the traditional array of sports memorabilia items, the auction boasts unique items donated from rock stars and actors, as well as artwork, houseboat trips, getaway stays, fitness and golf packages and so much more. Particular items donated thus far include: autographed guitars from Foreigner, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Twisted Sister and Eddie Money; a framed and signed Bad Company tour poster; original 1964 Beatles collector stamps; and a package for two to see the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers. Visit www.theaquarius.com for additional details on the event and a list of auction items.

“‘Bids for Kids’ is the largest benefit of the year and provides a significant amount of funding the Clubs need for their programs,” said Sean Hammond, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River Board Member and Vice President of Marketing and Player Development for Aquarius. “The Fiesta we hosted earlier in the year to benefit the Clubs was a huge success, and we’re hoping the community will once again come down to Aquarius and help support this very worthy cause.”

“This event is held every year on the Saturday before the big game, so the theme has always been based around high-quality sports memorabilia,” said Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River Executive Director Teri Tomlinson. “Over the last several years, the Board has diversified its collection of donation items for the auction and we now have one of the best silent and live auctions in the tri-state,” proclaimed Tomlinson.

The Aquarius Casino Resort will be offering a special room rate of $49.99 per night Friday, February 6 and Saturday, February 7 with the $25 purchase of a “Bids for Kids” ticket. All proceeds from ticket sales are a direct donation to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River. Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased by visiting www.theaqaurius.com or calling the Club directly at 928-763-1411. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. The auction will be held on February 6, 2010; the silent auction will begin at 5 p.m. and the live auction will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m.
