Tickets are on sale now for Ramon Ayala in concert on Saturday, May 5 at the Star of the Desert Arena in Primm. Guests will enjoy the signature sounds of the Latin award-winning artist including “Tragos Amargos,” “Un Puno de Tierra,” and “Rinconcito en el Cielo.”
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $40.
Known as the “El Rey del Acordeon (the king of the accordion),” Ayala began playing the accordion at the age of six. Following in the footsteps of his father musician Ramon Cobarrubias, Ayala performed in public places to support his family before achieving mainstream stardom as a musician. He gained recognition for his contributions to modern conjunto music with distinctive sounds and a definitive instrumental style that led to hit songs covered by countless contemporary Latin music artists.
After performing in several notable bands, including Los Jilgueros de Marin and Los Pavorreales, Ayala set out on his own, forming the legendary band Ramon Ayala y sus Bravos del Norte. The group earned multiple Grammy nominations and awards for Best Mexican Album for “En Vivo…El Hombre Y Su Musica” in 2001 and “Ya No Llores” in 2005, in addition to Latin Grammy awards for albums “Quemame Los Ojos” in 2001 and “El Numero Cien” in 2002. The decorated artist has been in the music industry for over 50 years and continues to be one of the leading influences of Norteño music.
“Cinco de Mayo is the perfect time to have Ramon Ayala perform on the Star of the Desert stage,” said Stuart Richey, vice president and general manager of Primm Valley Resort & Casino. “The day lends itself to colorful celebrations and guests will enjoy the high energy performance and all the amenities Primm has to offer.”
