, in partnership with the Las Vegas Artists’ Guild, will present the Galleria Art Expo March 2-3. The two-day community art and cultural event will feature all things art, including art displays, contest, painting class and live art demonstrations. 

PRELUDE TO THE GALLERIA ART EXPO: GALLERIA OPEN ART COMPETITION
Artists that are participating in the Galleria Art Expo (on March 2 and 3), currently have artwork on display at Galleria at Sunset on the second floor next to Dillard’s. This is part of the Galleria Open Art Competition, which continues through March 3, and is the largest art show in the LVAG’s 25-year history. It features more than 80 pieces of fine art created by award-winning and nationally recognized artists. All mediums are represented, including bronze sculptures.

In addition, a special artist reception will be held Wednesday, February 27, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Suite 2109. Reception is free and open to the public and includes an awards presentation, refreshments and live painting.

ARTWORK FROM THE LAS VEGAS ARTISTS’ GUILD ON DISPLAY
Award-winning artists from across the Vegas valley will display the very best in fine art on March 2 and 3. Various mediums will be presented including oil and acrylic paintings, sculptures, glass, photography and more. The artists will offer both original works of artwork as well as fine art giclees for purchase. This is a great opportunity to meet the artists, many of which will be conducting live art demonstrations so the public can watch a masterpiece being created. Artwork will be on sale and displayed throughout Galleria at Sunset.

CLARK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ART CONTEST
The Clark County School District Art Contest is on Saturday, March 2 in the Center Court. The contest will feature Burkholder Middle School students’ artwork of  “What Does Love Mean to Me” from noon to 3 p.m.

LVAG representatives will judge the contest and announce the first, second and third place winners that day. Winners will receive Galleria at Sunset gift cards.

PAINTING UNCORKED
Award-winning artist Laura Runko will guide painters to their own masterpiece on Saturday, March 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. in a private setting located in Suite 2109. Delicious wine and light bites will be provided by BRAVO! Cucina Italiana.

Tickets are $30 and will be available to the first 30 people who pay and register. If the class is not full, walk-ups will be accepted day of. All proceeds will benefit the Las Vegas Artists’ Guild. Tickets are available for purchase at www.galleriaatsunset.com/event/Galleria-Art-Expo/2145521459/.

LIVE ART DEMONSTRATION WITH SKIN CITY BODY PAINTING
Skin City Body Painting is one of the premier body paint companies in the world, located in the heart of the Vegas Arts District. On Sunday, March 3, Skin City Body Painting will bring art to life with live models being painted on stage from noon to 3 p.m. in Galleria at Sunset’s Center Court.

Skin City Body Painting was founded in 2006 by Robin Slonina, who can currently be seen judging alongside RuPaul, Craig Tracy and host Rebecca Romijn on the hit TV show “Skin Wars,” now in its third season on Netflix.

Skin City provides bodypaint, hair, makeup, models and circus talent for promotions, events, conventions and parties, as well as fantasy bodypaint photo shoots for tourists and locals alike. Now in its 13th year in business, this creative company has been a huge advocate for the growing Vegas arts scene, as well as an active supporter of numerous local charities. The company’s unique body art has been featured on countless shows and networks, including ABC, BBC News, MTV, NATGeo, NBC, Showtime and the Travel Channel.
