Ricardo’s Mexican Restaurant to Attempt “World’s Largest Margarita” in 2010

Ricardo’s Mexican Restaurant commemorates 30 years in 2010 with a spectacular weekend including a Guinness World Record attempt of the “World’s Largest Margarita” sponsored by ROSANGEL tequila. The event will consist of a three-day celebration with proceeds benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Southern Nevada.

Ricardo’s Mexican Restaurant has been a Las Vegas institution for 30 years and has played a key role in making memories for guests since the opening of the first restaurant in the Meadows Mall in 1979. Bob Ansara has co-owned the Ricardo’s brand and operation since it’s inception three decades ago, and has operated numerous locations across the Las Vegas Valley and is currently located at the Northwest corner of Flamingo and Decatur.

The 30th Anniversary celebration is planned to take place on Friday, May 21 through Sunday, May 23 and will feature a Guinness World Record attempt for the “World’s Largest Margarita.” During the 30th Anniversary celebration World Record attempt, patrons will be able to purchase samplings of the “World’s Largest Margarita” throughout the weekend. Product for the “World’s Largest Margarita” will be donated by Gran Centenario’s new hibiscus-infused tequila, ROSANGEL. This new hibiscus-infused tequila will give the margarita a pink hue in the spirit of breast cancer awareness.

“We’re ecstatic to be celebrating our 30-year milestone with the Las Vegas community,” says Ricardo’s owner, Bob Ansara. “Our goal is to say ‘thank you’ to our regular customers throughout the years that have made Ricardo’s such a success and we welcome new customers with open arms during our weekend-long celebration in 2010.”

Plans for the 30th Anniversary festivities will also include food and drink specials, live outdoor entertainment, celebrity appearances and prize giveaways, as Ricardo’s transforms itself into the ultimate block party fiesta.
