Enjoy Free Ice Cream at Annual Sunny 106.5 Ice Cream Sunday at Providence Master Planned Community Sept. 16
Make your day sweeter with free ice cream during the annual Sunny 106.5 Ice Cream Sunday on Sunday, Sept. 16. The family-friendly event is free to attend and is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Huckleberry Park in the Providence Master Planned Community in northwest Las Vegas.

In addition to the frozen treats, courtesy of Meadow Gold, there will be kid-friendly activities and ice cream-eating contests, food trucks, a variety of booths, and the Sunny 106.5 team will be on-site with great prizes like tickets to Legoland California, SeaWorld San Diego, iHeartRadio Music Festival Daytime Stage tickets and more. The kids activities include petting zoo, face-painting, inflatables, water balloons, Pinatas, relay races and more.

Attendees also can enjoy Huckleberry Park’s multi-use events field, full court basketball, swings, picnic area and shade ramada. Well-behaved leashed pets are welcome, and they can play in the venue’s large and small dog parks.

In honor of the ice cream theme, here’s a few fun facts about one of America’s favorite treats from various sources:

  • Marco Polo brought an early form of ice cream to Europe in the 1300s. Meadow Gold has produced ice cream since 1901.
  • The world’s most popular ice cream topping is chocolate syrup.
  • The average number of ice cream pints enjoyed by an American each year is 48.
  • One in 10 people admit to licking the bowl clean after eating ice cream.
  • It takes 50 licks to finish a single scoop ice cream cone.
  • Next to cookies, ice cream is the best-selling treat in America.
  • One in five people share ice cream with their pets.

Huckleberry Park is located at 10325 Farm Rd., just off the I-215 North Beltway and Hualapai Way. For information, visit www.providencelv.com or call the Providence Information Center at 702-898-5777 or Sunny 106.5 at 702-238-7300.
