The Howard Hughes Corporation, developer of Las Vegas Ballpark, a new Triple-A baseball stadium under construction at Downtown Summerlin; and owner of the Las Vegas 51s, will host a special topping off ceremony on Las Vegas Ballpark to mark construction progress and recognize the great work of nearly 200 construction workers on the project (Pictured: Concept Rendering).
Dignitaries will add their signatures to a steel beam that workers will sign earlier that morning. The beam will be hoisted by crane into position as part of the ceremony that will include remarks from Kevin Orrock, President, Summerlin; Tom Warden, Senior Vice President, Community and Government Relations, Summerlin; Don Logan, Las Vegas 51s President/COO; and Steve Hill, CEO, LVCVA; Clark County Commission Board Chair Steve Sisolak; Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager, District F. District Lunch will be provided to everyone in attendance, including construction workers, media and guests.
The topping off ceremony comes just days after the Las Vegas 51s officially announced the team’s two-year Player Development Contract with the Oakland A’s. The team will play its home, season and stadium opener at Las Vegas Ballpark when the Las Vegas 51s will play the Sacramento River Cats on April 9, 2019.
