The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada welcomed Danica Torchin and Neil Popish to the new team, where they join director, Stefanie Tuzman and administrative and events coordinator, Georgette Cohen.
Torchin serves as the Las Vegas B’nai B’rith Youth Organization city director and youth and family program manager. She’s a Las Vegas native who has remained active in the Jewish community throughout her teen and young-adult life holding positions at BBYO, Congregation Ner Tamid and JCC’s Camp K’helah.
In her new position, Torchin hopes to expand and diversify the programs offered, provide resources and tools to Jewish families and create outlets for strengthening Jewish identity throughout the community. She looks forward to working with the community to offer new, exciting programs for Jewish children and their families.
Also, JCC welcomes back Neil Popish as its new program director. After a nearly five-year hiatus, Popish decided to return to the JCC, a place he always considered his second home.
“I look forward to creating new and innovative programs to the community,” said Popish, who has worked with Jewish communities for nearly 25 years in Boca Raton, Florida, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Las Vegas. “I am very excited to be working with such a talented staff.”
