Snoop Dogg’s Turkey Jam will bring top hip-hop artist of the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000s to Orleans Arena on Saturday, Nov. 24. Featured artists include West Coast rap legend Snoop Dogg, plus special guests E-40, DJ Quik, Warren G, Suga Free, Kurupt, Afroman and B-Legit.
West Coast rap icon Snoop Dogg began his musical career in the early ‘90s when he was discovered by influential rapper, record producer and businessman Dr. Dre. Snoop Dogg’s fame skyrocketed after being featured in Dr. Dre’s solo debut album, “The Chronic,” later releasing his own debut album in 1993, produced by Dr. Dre. Since then, the rapper has released a total of 16 studio albums, selling more than 23 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide. Snoop Dogg’s has released a string of chart-topping hits, including “Gin and Juice,” “Still A G Thang,” “The Next Episode,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and more. Aside from his musical career, Snoop Dogg is also a record producer, television personality, entrepreneur and actor.
Early in his career, Bay Area rapper E-40 started his own record label, Sick Wid’ It, where he released his music independently. Jive Records took notice of his music’s increasing popularity and E-40 became one of the first Bay Area rappers to get signed to a major label. E-40 went on to release numerous chart-topping hits like “U and Dat,” “Tell Me When To Go” and “Things’ll Never Change/Rapper’s Ball.”
Platinum recording hip-hop artist, DJ and record producer DJ Quik entered the music scene in 1987, releasing self-made mixtapes, and later went on to debut his first album, “Quik is the Name.” Throughout his career, DJ Quik has released nine albums and two collaboration albums with rappers Kurupt and Problem. The rapper has also collaborated with several other hip-hop giants, including Bun B, Ice Cube, Dwele, Suga Free, Jon B, Bizzy Bone and more. DJ Quik’s top hits, including “Tonite,” “Jus Lyke Compton,” “Safe + Sound” and “Luv of My Life,” featuring Gift Reynolds.
Rap legend and producer Warren Griffin III, known as Warren G, is widely considered as one of the pioneers of West Coast hip-hop. One of his biggest hits is the single “Regulate,” featuring the late Nate Dogg, released in 1994. Warren G is best-known for his popular 1999 album, “I Want It All,” featuring collaborations with Mack 10, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt and Eve. Throughout his career, Warren G has also released a series of top hits, including “This D.J.,” “I Want it All” and “Do You See.”
Rounding out the show’s lineup are Suga Free, Kurupt, Afroman and B-Legit.
