New research from the American Heart Association notes that only 22 percent of Americans get enough exercise, and according to the Cleveland Clinic, not exercising is worse than smoking. Rather alarming stats but, Life Time is working to get Americans healthier—and happier—by opening its doors on Tuesday, Jan. 1 to help everyone kick off the year with the right approach.
For those interested in marking their commitments with a walk, run or jog outside, the 5th Annual Commitment Day 5K will take place at Life Time Athletic in Green Valley.
According to a recent ComRes poll, the top two New Year’s resolutions are “to exercise more” (38 percent) and “to lose weight” (33 percent). However, between 80 to 90 percent of New Year’s resolutions fall flat. Life Time is beginning the year by helping people choose the right goal, find the right motivation and commit to following through to achieve success.
