From 5-7 p.m., the starship OPM 73’s raucous crew will make an extended layover for Space Skate Night to ice skate with guests and deliver a few surprises, including outer space skill challenges with prizes and a jaw-dropping sword swallowing performance by Rear Admiral Todd Vader.
Want to skate for free? Bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to Southern Nevada’s largest hunger relief organization, Three Square Food Bank, or show proof of purchase of a ticket to one of two performances of OPIUM on Dec. 13.
Pro Tip: Guests who bring their receipt to the OPIUM Theatre box office showing proof of purchase of a full-priced ice skate rental from The Ice Rink on Dec. 13 will receive a special $35-off discount on reserved seating tickets for that night’s performances at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Hailed as “One of those Vegas shows you’ll need to see more than once!” by the Las Vegas Sun, OPIUM has continued to earn critical acclaim since its galactic debut this spring. On a wild ride aboard the OPM 73 from Uranus to Las Vegas, the spaceship’s twisted crew are at your service with in-flight entertainment provided by the galaxy’s most talented variety performers and other space oddities. Featuring an alien chanteuse and a house band cranking out Planet Earth’s greatest hits, OPIUM is a fast, funny, and funky love letter to every B-grade science fiction movie ever made.
OPIUM takes flight every Monday and Wednesday at 8 p.m., and Thursday through Sunday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. with no flights on Tuesday. Tickets start at $49 and can be purchased online at Spiegelworld.com, by calling 1.866.973.9611, or in-person at the OPIUM box office. Connect with the crew on social media at @OpiumVegas.
