The Public Education Foundation has received a $4,500 donation from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), one of the biggest arena attractions in rock music.
The group presented the Foundation with a ceremonial check on December 5 before their show at the Orleans Arena. TSO set aside one dollar from every ticket sold at the Las Vegas performance for the Foundation. The funding will help the Foundation with its mission to improve public education in Southern Nevada by generating community resources and facilitating collaborations and partnerships to ensure high-quality public educational opportunities for all children.
“During these challenging economic times this generous donation allows us to continue our task of transforming our schools in a meaningful and lasting way,” said Judi Steele, president and chief professional officer of The Public Education Foundation. “We greatly appreciate the generosity of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.~ Together, we are making the difference for our public school children.”
The Foundation worked with Lotus Broadcasting to facilitate the relationship with TSO.
“The opportunity, afforded to us by Trans-Siberian Orchestra, compliments our ongoing efforts to give back to the community through awareness and monies raised,” said Tony Bonnici, vice president-general manager at Lotus Broadcasting. “We are thankful for this relationship with Trans-Siberian Orchestra that has grown over the years and continues to support charities in Southern Nevada.”
