Returning Saturday, March 2, 2019, “Run Away with Cirque du Soleil” will transform the Springs Preserve during the 18th annual 5K run and 1-mile walk. The event will bring the community together alongside iconic characters from the six Cirque du Soleil shows, and all proceeds will benefit Springs Preserve and Cirque du Soleil foundations (Pictured: Performers at 17th Annual Run Away with Cirque-du-Soleil – Photo credit: Cashman Photo)
Registration is now open for participants and can be completed at Active.com.
Throughout the family-friendly festivities, participants will have the opportunity to take photos and interact with Cirque du Soleil performers in costume and can also enjoy live music and a circus play area at the finish line.
This year, guests are encouraged to show their “Cirque side” as they are invited to dress in their best Cirque-inspired look for a chance to win a special behind-the-curtain package to one of the six Las Vegas resident shows. Also, this year’s event will be celebrated as the final chapter of “Run Away with Cirque du Soleil,” as year 2020 will bring a new tradition and new format to one of the valley’s most anticipated annual events.
The event will open at 7:00 a.m., with pre-race programming starting at 7:30 a.m. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by special performances, awards and raffle drawing at 9:30 a.m.
Early bird registration fees for the 5K are $37 for adults and $27 for children ages 3 – 12. For the walk, early bird fees are $27 for adults and $17 for children. Prices will increase by $3 on Feb. 17. “Run Away with Cirque du Soleil” will also offer military and senior discounts, for the first time in the event’s history. The military discount is $5 off the adult price, and the senior discount is comparable to the child price.
