Lutheran Social Services of Nevada was founded in 1997 to address the growing needs of people seeking emergency food, housing and employment assistance in Nevada regardless of religious affiliation, age, or national origin. The agency recognizes 13 years as a major hunger-relief organization working to end food insecurity and increase access to nutritious food, housing and employment services for homeless, low and moderate income individuals. The agency has provided assistance to over 135,000 Nevadans in need – homeless families with dependent children, refugees and immigrants, troubled youths and families in crisis, seniors and homeless individuals. Each year, LSSN serves approximately 15,000 unduplicated individuals, families and seniors who are currently homeless or of low-moderate income.
