Former NHL and MLB Athletes Hang Out at the D Las Vegas’ Longbar

The acclaimed downtown hot spot, the D Las Vegas, was packed with NHL and MLB talents, including: the legendary Darryl Sittler, Grant Jennings, Harold Druken, Justin Leone, and our very own Vegas Golden Knight, Colin Miller (Pictured: Former NHL Players Darren Banks and Darryl Sittler with Casino Owner Derek Stevens at Longbar Las Vegas – Photo credit: the D Las Vegas)

Hockey Hall of Famer, Darryl Sittler, is easily recognized in any room he walks into. From being named one of the “100 Greatest NHL Players” back in 2017, to playing for three different teams throughout his career (Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers, and Detroit Red Wings), it’s hard to not notice true talent when it’s right before your eyes. Not to mention, he set the all-time NHL record, having scored the most points in a game. While battling the Boston Bruins in 1976, Sittler was responsible for four assists and six goals. His record still stands to this very day!

Speaking of the Boston Bruins, Darren “Banksy” Banks (former NHL player and current D Executive Casino Host), who used to play for the team in 1993-94, enjoyed spending time with his hockey friends, Darryl, Grant, and Harold. Grant Jennings was an NHL defenseman on several teams, including the Pittsburgh Penguins. In 1991 and 1992, Jennings helped his team reach victory and win the glorious Stanley Cup two years in a row! His good pal, Harold Druken, won in a silver medal back in 1999 during the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

Though the three NHL buddies are known for different accomplishments, they all came together in Sin City to watch the Vegas Golden Knights take on the Toronto Maple Leafs (a team on which they all played at one point in their careers). After they caught up with Banksy, they were introduced to the D’s famous owner, Derek Stevens. Derek also met up with former MLB player, Justin Leone, after he dined at the casino’s award-winning Italian steakhouse, Andiamo, with his beautiful wife.

Justin was most well-known for his time with the Seattle Mariners in 2004, where he set an impressive record of his own. He was the first player of the entire team (in history) to hit the left field’s KOMO Glove sign, which in turn earned a lucky fan one thousand dollars. That game against the Cleveland Indians also gave him his first home run with the MLB.

Last weekend, VGK star, Colin Miller, called D Executive Richard Wilk to set up Andiamo Italian Steakhouse for him and his family. Where he enjoyed a “good luck” meal before defeating the Nashville Predators last Saturday right in The Fortress.

This just goes to show… the D Las Vegas is known to be filled with special surprises, especially for those sports fiends out there! They are in possession of the longest sports bar in the entire state, after all.
