In honor of creating an all-inclusive museum experience, DISCOVERY Children’s Museum will celebrate – for the first-time-ever – International Family Equality Day on Sunday, May 5 from 12 to 5 p.m. Offering a variety of programs dedicated to family dynamics, DISCOVERY will leverage reading, family interaction and guided experiences on International Family Equality Day to celebrate the diversity of LGBTQ families worldwide and families from all different backgrounds to come together as one.
In addition, DISCOVERY will provide families the opportunity to connect with local organizations that support families in the Las Vegas community, while networking and establishing relationships with individuals from all backgrounds. Guests will be able to participate in large scale art projects including a collaborative unity mural, family crest creation, equality rock painting and more.
International Family Equality Day aligns with DISCOVERY’s mission to embody a museum where all are welcome. DISCOVERY’s partnership with Museums For All strives to create a space for all families from different backgrounds to come together as one. Museums For All provides the opportunity for low-income families to experience the excitement of DISCOVERY Children’s Museum at a reduced rate. Museum visitors with WIC, SNAP, EBT cards or a foster care license will receive admission for up to four (4) guests at discounted rate of $3.
