Actor Richard Gant to Compete in Mike Hammer's "Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament" at Binion’s Gambling Hall May 26, 2019

, an actor with over 100 screen credits, will compete in Mike Hammer’s “Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament” at Binion’s Gambling Hall on Sunday, May 26, 2019. If you don’t know his name, you will recognize Richard Gant’s face. He’s been in Rocky V (as the Don King-esque George Washington Duke), for which he received widespread critical acclaim. Recently Richard had a recurring role in the hit TV series, Greenleaf, as Percy Lee. Gant’s other roles include Deadwood, The Big Lebowski, Babylon 5, Special Unit 2, L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, Living Single, Posse, Seinfeld,Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Men Don’t Tell, Smallville, Charmed and more.

Gant’s most famous line comes from Rocky V:  “Touch me and I’ll sue” as he played George Washington Duke.

Mike Hammer said, “I’m very excited that Richard is flying in from Los Angeles to be a part of our poker tournament.  Richard loves playing poker and supporting our veterans, so this is a perfect fit.”

Other celebrities scheduled to participate are James Woods and magicians Lance BurtonThe Amazing Jonathan and Mac King.

“We are also thrilled to have Jeff Timmons, founding member of the Grammy-nominated pop group 98 Degrees, The Tenors of Rock, hypnotists Anthony Cools and Kevin Lepine, TV and music artist Dirk Vermin, professional poker player Miami John Cernuto and Gady Medrano from A&E’s “Flipping Vegas” TV show,” said Hammer.

Also competing will be Brian Shapiro, host of The Vegas Take radio show, and making a special appearance will be Lydia Ansel, DJ/Electric Violinist and others to be announced.

Registration will take place at 11am on the day of the tournament. Cards in the air at 12 noon.

The players in the tournament will compete at No Limit Texas Hold’em with a $120 buy-in and unlimited $60 add-ins and re-buys during the first four levels. $50 from each paid entry plus $30 from all add-ons and re-buys will be donated to the U.S. Vets Charity. Bust a celebrity and Binion’s will donate $100 to the Charity. Binion’s will also donate all operational fees. Any and all prize money won by a celebrity will be donated to the Charity.
