Road Trippin’ With Chef Scott Commings at Freedom Beat in Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino
When Freedom Beat at the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino opened the doors, it promised to pay homage to the tastes and tunes of the American road. Today, that promise is realized with the announcement of the Culinary Road Trip Featuring Chef Scott Commings

Kicking off on Wednesday, March 1, American food aficionados can take part in the ultimate roadie dinner series – first stop, New Orleans, LA – just in time to close out the annual Mardi Gras festivities.

Hosted on the first Wednesday of every month (itinerary and dates listed below) by Chef Scott Commings, winner of Hell’s Kitchen Season 12, this dinner series is designed to be family-style and interactive with Chef Commings taking control of the wheel for each monthly road trip. In honor of Mardi Gras, the first dinner spotlights the foods and drinks that New Orleans is best known for including Antoine’s Oysters Rockefeller, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, classic Crawfish Boil, Shrimp & Grits, Beignets and more. Of course, a regional beer or signature cocktail will wash it all down.

Unlike traditional dinner series, the Culinary Road Trip is designed for those who like good food, good music and great fun. Priced at only $35 per person, tickets for this delicious culinary journey are now available online at Event Brite. Only 20-25 seats will be available for each culinary road trip and tickets are available at a first-come, first-served basis. All guests will receive a Culinary Road Trip Passport – the more Road Trip cities you visit, the more great rewards and dining experiences you will receive for future visits to Freedom Beat.

Our tasty tour of New Orleans on March 1 will conjure memories of that little place in the French Quarter where you first discovered the joy of oysters and listened to some raucous jazz. The menu includes three courses of fun, paired with regional and local beers.
