The popular YouTube drawing show “MUFFALO POTATO” is back with live “how to draw” sessions every weekday for families and teachers staying home during the novel coronavirus closures.
Geared towards children ages 5 to 12, MUFFALO POTATO debuted on YouTube in 2013. With 200-plus episodes online, the show has been viewed more than 34 million times around the world with over 167,000 subscribers from 80 countries.
With the lovable MUFFALO POTATO puppet, show creator and former Henderson, Nevada resident John Masse shows that anyone who can print their letters and numbers can become an instant artist. In just minutes, the entertaining duo shows young viewers how to draw everything from animals and emojis to cartoon characters, including Marvel, Star Wars, Disney and video game favorites.
After a two-year hiatus, Masse relaunched the program last month with a daily live streaming show to provide a fun and engaging educational option for families at home due to nationwide shelter in place restrictions and mandatory school closures. Teachers across the country are also using MUFFALO POTATO as a creative artistic break for their students’ distance learning programs.
“Parents are now having to homeschool and keep their children entertained 24/7 during this unprecedented crisis,” said Masse. “As a parent of young children, I wanted to relaunch MUFFALO POTATO to support parents who may be stressed and running out of engaging activities for their children. It’s my hope that MUFFALO POTATO can brighten a child’s day and lighten their parents’ load by bringing a bit of fun and entertainment to everyone during these trying times.”
MUFFALO POTATO will air live drawing shows Monday through Friday at noon PDT on its YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/muffalopotato. Masse has pledged to live stream shows every weekday until shelter at home mandates are lifted. The shows will also be available for viewing on the MUFFALO POTATO YouTube channel after they air.
Masse added that given increased viewer feedback, he and MUFFALO POTATO will also be available for personal meet & greets via Skype or FaceTime with the show’s young fans upon request via email at [email protected] or FaceBook @muffalopotato.
