Walker Furniture in partnership with Community In Schools (CIS) of Southern Nevada helped again this year collecting school supplies with the help of its employees and customers to fill the need for deserving Clark County School District (CSD) school children in need. The Walker collection drive ran the month of July with drop-off stations at both the MLK and Henderson stores.
On Friday, July 31, marketing director Patti Gerace and the Walker Furniture delivery truck transported supplies to the Annual School Supply Drive Day held in the Sam’s Club parking lot at Rainbow and the 215.
“While schools are closed, CIS is working behind the scenes to support our students and their families,” said Gerace. “Students whether physically attending school or virtually learning need supplies especially those in need and the situation has only been magnified since COVID-19.”
Walker partnered with KSNV News 3 and the CW’s “Fill The Bus” promotion to help collected school supplies. People can still donate in September: Text FTB2020 to 243-725.
CIS of Southern Nevada is the local affiliate of the nation’s leading dropout prevention program serving 59,148 students in 53 public schools.
