Corner Bar Management’s latest concept comes to life with the opening of Oddwood, located inside the new AREA15 at 3215 S. Rancho Dr., today, Sept. 17. An astounding 25-foot-tall digital maple tree will be the centerpiece of the 2,500-square-foot, open-space cocktail bar, which can be found in the SPINE, the main corridor of the world’s first purpose-built experiential entertainment complex.
Created by world-renowned artist, Color + Light, the towering, twinkling tree creates patterns from a myriad of colors in a mesmerizing display of art revering nature with more than 5,000 individually-programmed LED lights that fill its branches. The venue was conceptualized by Corner Bar founder, Ryan Doherty, who designed Oddwood as a juxtaposition between the vibrancy of the tree and a collision of brass, bronze and worn wood on the bartops and other surfaces. The tree’s intuitive lights twinkle in harmony to the soundscape of an all-encompassing sound system.
A hallmark of Corner Bar’s concepts, Oddwood serves consummately-crafted cocktails created by the company’s skilled mixologists. Signature cocktails include the Willow, made with Ketel Peach & Orange, elderflower, lemon and bubbles; Habitat, made with Tito’s vodka, Borghetti espresso, vanilla syrup, heavy cream and lavender bitters; and Sweet Leaf, made with Avua Balsamo, poppyseed amaro, lemon, cucumber and basil, each priced at $12. Upon opening, Oddwood will serve a curated menu from AREA15’s food hall, The Beast Pop-Up Experience by Todd English.
Located in the heart of Las Vegas and minutes from the Strip, AREA15 offers immersive activations, monumental art installations, socially-distanced events, extraordinary design elements, unique retail, groundbreaking technology, bars, eateries and much more. The complex also houses nearly 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space with more than 800 free parking spaces.
AREA15 will follow the latest recommendations of leading health experts and government authorities, including the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And true to the insatiable hunger for all things inventive and groundbreaking, AREA15 will be using cutting-edge, state-of-the-art technology to help implement these recommendations, including an AI-driven thermal scanning platform that screens temperature accurately and non-invasively, detects the absence of a mask, and alerts staff when social distancing thresholds are not being met.
