Two Mindfulness and Healing Events by First Friday for Front Line Workers - Oct. 17 & 28

First Friday Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, announces that First Friday will be holding two more special mindfulness and healing events for front line workers after its highly successful event held on the 18th anniversary of First Friday on Oct. 4.

WHAT: Mindfulness and Healing events designed for front line workers presented by the First Friday Foundation and the city of Las Vegas. Art and creativity will be the focus to help rejuvenate our special audience.

WHEN: 

October 17

11:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.

11:45 a.m. presentation to SafeNest CEO Liz Ortenburger and VP Laurie Cody and The Salvation Army of Southern Nevada Asst. Director of Social Services, Jeree Saucedo

October 28

5:30 p.m. through 8:00 p.m.

WHERE:  Third St. and Gass Ave./in front of the former Eclipse Theatre, now Art Houz Theatre

DETAILS:  Over 100 tote bags to be donated to SafeNestThe Salvation Army of Southern Nevada and the Nevada Homeless Alliance in a presentation at 11:45 a.m. at the October 17 event. The totes were created during the First Friday “Totes of Love” art class series with Karma Reyes and the community donated various hygiene items to fill them so that they can be distributed to clients of the three named organization recipients.  

Inspirational Speakers include Billie Cole from Deblanc Music who will share Soul of Singing – Billie has worked in building confidence and inspiring creative spirits through music for decades and understands the effects of the pandemic on our workers and community; Megan Linney, with the Layer Lounge who will talk about self-care and the importance it plays; local artist, Karma Reyes, who will share her inspirational survival story and how art had an important impact on her life and Jeree Saucedo, Assistant Director of Social Services at The Salvation Army of Southern Nevada, who understands the needs of social workers who are directly dealing with our community in crisis. Plus, deep breathing meditation with Sin City Yoga and more.
