The Palazzo welcomed champion swimmer and model Amanda Beard on Friday, February 12, 2010 as she hosted the Opening Ceremonies Viewing Party inside Lagasse’s Stadium (Photo Credit: ImagesofVegas.com/ISphotography).
Beard, a seven-time medalist at the Olympic games, looking spectacular in a purple minidress and gorgeous jewels by Simon G, first took photos inside the venue for media. She then went on to welcome the Stadium crowd and recount her favorite memories of winning the gold medal, representing the United States at the games, and her plans for attending the Olympics in the future–in which she said YES!. After the Q&A, Beard was presented with a special Opening Ceremonies cake decorated exclusively with frosted medals, a photo of beard, and topped with a torch made of icing–all representative of the Olympic games.

“It’s hard to even put into words what the Opening ceremonies mean to me…it’s magical,” Beard said as she sat in the Stadium waving an American flag.
After Beard’s welcome, she, along with husband Sacha Brown, stayed and watched the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, munching on Emeril Lagasse’s Signature Steak sandwich, Buffalo Wings, Nachos, and Pizza while sipping on a mojito.

Enjoying the plush stadium seating, dining in the restaurant with a flat screen television tableside, and relaxing on the outdoor patio, Stadium was full of high energy as the ceremonies began. There was friendly cheer from all corners of the Stadium venue as fans welcomed and cheered on their country during the ceremony. Great fun was had by all!
