Commissioner Tom Collins will mark the first anniversary of the opening of the Robert E. “Bob” Price Recreation Center with an afternoon of special events there from 3:33 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010. The center is located at 2050 Bonnie Lane, which is on the north side of Lake Mead Boulevard, east of Nellis Boulevard.
The events will include dance and samurai sword demonstrations, craft projects for children and a “Commissioner Challenge Basketball” game which will begin at 5 p.m. (Commissioner Collins and some special guests will play basketball with area residents). The event is free to attend and refreshments will be served.
“Bob Price is a great man and now also a great recreation center,” Commissioner Collins said. “In just one year this community center has proven to be a valuable addition to the quality of life in District B.”
Robert E. “Bob” Price, a Nevada assemblyman for more than 28 years, is expected to attend the anniversary celebration along with his wife Nancy. The center, which opened in March 2009, has meeting rooms, a multi-purpose room, dance room, exercise room, teen and pre-school rooms and gymnasium with full size basketball courts.
