50 Students Will Receive M.D. degrees at School’s First-Ever Commencement

The med school journey of UNLV’s charter class of students is coming to an end May 7 when 50 students cross the Thomas & Mack Center stage to receive their M.D. degrees.

This talented group of future doctors joined UNLV in 2017, and though they came to UNLV from colleges nationwide, all have strong ties to the Silver State. Since their arrival at UNLV, the School of Medicine has achieved full accreditation, a new medical campus for future classes is under construction in the heart of the Las Vegas Medical District, and every member of the class was selected for residencies in Nevada and around the nation.

UNLV president Keith E. Whitfield, Kerkorian School of Medicine dean Dr. Marc J. Kahn, and founding dean Dr. Barbara Atkinson will address graduates. Dr. David Skorton, president and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges, will deliver the commencement keynote address.
