Donations from ticket sales and public supply drive to benefit
the Las Vegas Indian Center
To recognize Indigenous Peoples Day,Meow Wolf Las Vegas will donate $1 from every ticket sold on Monday, Oct. 11, to the Las Vegas Indian Center. The creators of the new immersive art attraction, Omega Mart, will also invite the public that day to donate goods and supplies to the local Indigenous community, a population disproportionately affected by the ongoing pandemic.
Supplies for the Las Vegas Indian Center will be collected in the Meow Wolf gift shop, located next to Omega Mart inside of AREA15, from Noon to Midnight on Monday, Oct. 11. Donations should be boxed with included items clearly listed on the outside. Requested supplies include:
- Baby food and formula
- Diapers, all sizes
- Educational toys and books
- Cleaning supplies
- Disinfectant wipes and sprays
- Liquid hand soap and dish soap
- Hand sanitizer
- Toilet paper
- Disposable masks and cloth masks
Meow Wolf’s attractions in Santa Fe, NM and Denver, CO will also recognize Indigenous Peoples Day by donating $1 from every ticket sold and holding a public supply drive to benefit the Indian Centers in their respective communities on Oct. 11. All three locations, including Las Vegas, will hold an internal supply drive for employees to donate requested items from Oct. 4-11.
These efforts join a targeted initiative by Meow Wolf to better support local Indigenous people. This includes establishing an internship program with the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA), COVID-19 relief efforts to support the Navajo Nation, Pueblo of Jemez, Pueblo of Cochiti and the Santa Fe Indigenous Center, and opening Denver and Las Vegas exhibitions with Land Acknowledgement Ceremonies and permanent Land Acknowledgement plaques.
