Some Advice for Celebrating New Year’s Eve
Make Your Reservations Ahead of Time
Do not wait until New Year’s Eve to start making reservations. Whether you’re looking for a hotel room or a VIP club package, you’ll want to book ahead to find the best deals and guarantee a spot at the party.
Do Not Drive Under the Influence
There is never a good excuse to drive under the influence, but there’s especially no reason to on New Year’s Eve. Besides the ample rideshare and taxi services that will be available, the local RTC bus system is offering free rides across the Las Vegas Valley, including 39 routes from 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until 9 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Click here for more route information.
Get to The Strip or Downtown Las Vegas Early
If you plan on going to The Strip or Downtown Las Vegas, GET THERE EARLY. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to be in town for New Year’s Eve destinations, so it’s recommended to head out way in advance if you’re not already staying close to either of these spots.
Plan Your Route
If you do decide to drive to The Strip, be aware that Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed between Russell Road and Sahara Avenue to cross-traffic. This road closure on top of a large influx of visitors will likely bring heavy traffic, so it’s recommended to find somewhere to park near the outside of the Strip where you can easily walk to or take a rideshare service to get you to the area.
The weather on New Year’s Eve is expected to be around 30 degrees Fahrenheit, so you’ll definitely want to bundle up if you’re going to be outside.
Don’t Bring Anything You’re Not Supposed To
Strollers, backpacks, glass bottles, and bags larger than a standard grocery bag will not be allowed on the Las Vegas Strip. Visitors should leave these items either at home or in their hotel rooms.
Please note: Events may be subject to change and fully booked by New Year’s Eve.
