The Venetian Hosts Fourth Annual Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament

The Fourth Annual Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament was hosted this week by The Venetian Poker Room (Photo: © Erik Kabik/ RETNA/ www.erikkabik.com). The tournament allowed participants to compete against celebrities and dozens of professional poker players, with proceeds benefitting the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals No-Kill Animal Shelter.

The $300+30 No-Limit Texas Hold’em Tournament featured $100 re-buys during the first three 20-minute levels and a one-time $100 add-on for twice the starting stack. The grand prize of the tournament was a $10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event Seat, and a Curtis & Co. watch. The top ten finishers were awarded prizes that have a combined total value of $30,000.

An exciting personal note… my fiance’, Sandy Van, made it to the final table with just 1 chip left and held out to place 9th, winning a spot on Jennifer Harman’s team for the RENO Jennifer Harman National Kidney Foundation Poker Tournament in May.

Emily Jillette (Penn Jillette’s wife) finished in 3rd place before Chau Giang won the tournament (and a seat valued at $10,000.00 in the 2010 WSOP) by edging out Michelle Lawson who placed 2nd.
