Las Vegas NASCAR Weekend Returns to LVMS in March; Tickets On Sale Now

Las Vegas’s annual NASCAR Weekend will return to its traditional March weekend in 2011. The annual NASCAR Weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will be held March 4-6, 2011. Earlier this year, the event was held on the final weekend in February due to a quirk in the calendar.

“In reality, it’s on the same weekend as the 2010 event, but our race fans have been used to coming here on the first weekend in March, so it’s good to be back on those dates,” said LVMS president Chris Powell. “We’ve been blessed with great weather on this weekend the past few years, and we look forward to having another great weekend with a packed house in 2011.”

Tickets, which start as low as $49, are on sale now. The event weekend will begin with qualifying for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event on Friday, March 4. The Sam’s Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race will be run Saturday, March 5 and the 14th annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event is set for Sunday, March 6. Two nights of World of Outlaws action will start the race week on March 2-3.

Race fans can purchase tickets by calling 1-800-644-4444, logging on to www.lvms.com or in person at the LVMS ticket services office.

All ticket pricing for the NASCAR Weekend has remained the same from 2010. The speedway again will offer a special Family Four Pack which starts at $199. Lucky 7 Preferred Parking and Driver Introduction passes also are available.

Times for all events will be announced at a later date. FOX Sports will televise the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event for the 11th consecutive year, while ESPN2 will carry the Sam’s Town 300.

Four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is the defending champion of the Sprint Cup Series race, while Kevin Harvick captured this year’s Sam’s Town 300.
