Holly Madison and Laura Croft visited the City of Orange Beach, AL, this week (Photo courtesy of R. Ken Cooper).
The day started with a visit to the local Fire Station for a breast cancer awareness campaign they are doing, followed by a visit to the City offices for the boom stapling project. Boom stapling involves attaching oliophilic film/sheeting to absorbent boom. The boom is put out in the water to absorb oil sheen and the attached sheeting catches the tar balls.

Holly also went to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo located in Gulf Shores, AL. She met with Zoo Director Patti Hall and made a charitable donation of $20,000. The Zoo is trying to raise money to relocate their facility. They are in a low lying area and when there is a threat of a hurricane they have to transport all of their animals out of harms way. Also known as “The Little Zoo That Could” it was featured on the Animal Planet during a hurricane evacuation.
