Josh Strickland’s First Solo Single Reaches Top Ten on iTunes Charts

Josh Strickland, currently starring in PEEPSHOW and Holly’s World on E!, debuted his first ever solo artist single on iTunes last Wednesday. The song, titled “Report to the Floor” was co-produced by Grammy Award winning producer Damon Elliott and by Norwegian pop/dance producer Axident. The single has now taken the world by storm and reached the top ten on the iTunes Dance Charts.

“I am so happy with the way the first single came out,” said Strickland. “It was such a thrill to work with a producer of Damon’s caliber and the work that Axident did is amazing. I really feel so comfortable with the finished product. ‘Report to the Floor’ is a really fun song with a great beat. I really hope everyone enjoys listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.”

Strickland met Grammy award winning producer Damon Elliott a year ago when Elliott was producing the theme song to “Holly’s World.” Strickland performed on that song and the two began collaborating in the studio shortly after that. Pairing Strickland’s sensational voice with that of some hit dance tracks prepared by Elliott and Axident exclusively for Strickland, together they have created music that makes people want to dance.

“Report to the Floor” is the first single from an upcoming EP. This evening the video for the song will be shot at Krave Nightclub in Las Vegas and Strickland is set to perform the song live for the first time this Wednesday, February 23 at LAX Nightclub in Las Vegas.

Josh Strickland has seen success as a singer, Broadway star, reality television actor, and is now adding chart topping solo artist to his already impressive resume. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Strickland first entered the national spotlight as a national finalist in season 2 of American Idol, and was later on the season premiere of Star Search 2004. Strickland was the original Tarzan in Disney’s Tarzan the Broadway Musical and has shared the stage with music icons Shania Twain and Phil Collins. He currently stars opposite Holly Madison as the leading male role in Las Vegas’ “Peepshow” at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, and can be seen alongside her in her hit E! reality series “Holly’s World.” While it seems that he has already risen to the top, Strickland continues to pursue his true passion of having a solo singing career.
