Olive Crest Announces “Celebrate Family Week”

Olive Crest, one of the West Coast’s premier children’s charities dedicated to promoting the safety and wellness of children and families, announced “Celebrate Family Week” today, in an effort to encourage families to spend quality time with each other. The festivities will run from April 19 – 25 at various locations throughout the valley.

“We feel that we need to get down to the basics during tough times,” says Ken Lange, Olive Crest’s Executive Director. “We believe that many small actions will lead to big results. If every family in Southern Nevada takes an hour or two to laugh, play, or talk, the impact will be tremendous.”

During the week, Olive Crest will be sponsoring two events, which will provide families with fun activities to participate in. The celebration will kick off with a Las Vegas 51’s special family offer on Sunday, April 19 at 12:05 P.M. Anyone who mentions Olive Crest or brings a non-perishable food item will be eligible to purchase general admission tickets for $5.00 each. To close out the week, an ice cream social with live entertainment and prizes will be held at Town Square, located near Las Vegas Blvd. and I-215 on Saturday, April 25 from 2 – 6 p.m.

In addition to these events, families are encouraged to find exciting ways to spend time together. To aid in this pursuit, Olive Crest will be providing creative ideas for family activities through a new interactive website at www.ourtown2009.org. Families will also be able to share what they did and how it had an impact on members of their family.
