Master Illusionist Rick Thomas Returns to Tropicana Las Vegas Dec. 9-31
Master Illusionist Rick Thomas and Tropicana Las Vegas are announcing a special holiday engagement, Dec. 9- 31, 2011, in the Tropicana Theater

Thomas’ unique style of magic and unparalleled stage presence has been captivating audiences for more than 20 years not only in Las Vegas but also at venues all over the world. By weaving brilliant illusions, graceful dance sequences, slight-of-hand and his beautiful white tigers into the production, his performances are truly inspired and have no peer. The Magic of Rick Thomas is a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience.

Over the years, Thomas has earned the highest honors for his craft including “Illusionist of the Year” from the Theatre Excellence Awards, the coveted “Magician of the Year” by the Academy of Magical Arts and “Stage Magician of the Year” by the World Magic Awards. In addition, to date he has completed five world tours, performing in more than 50 countries. Thomas has been featured on numerous national television specials including “The World’s Greatest Magic” on NBC and his own special on ABC that aired throughout Asia.

As a former United States Ballroom Dance Champion, Thomas’ graceful movements are on full display not only in his show’s dance sequences but also in the fluid way he moves about the stage from the beginning of the show until the last curtain call.

His skills as an illusionist and dancer can also be seen this holiday season through his collaborative consulting with the Carolina Ballet Theater for their 2011 production of “The Nutcracker” in Raleigh, North Carolina. The prestigious dance ensemble will incorporate several Thomas-designed illusions into their production this year, which no other dance theater has accomplished for a production of the beloved “Nutcracker” before.

“My success on the Las Vegas strip began at Tropicana,” said Thomas. “And, after being the most successful afternoon show on the strip for eight years, I’m excited to return to the newly transformed Tropicana Las Vegas for this limited engagement. It will be a spectacular holiday experience and we know the audience will love every minute of our shows.”

The Magic of Rick Thomas is open to the entire family and will show at 4 p.m. Dec. 9- 25, 2011; and at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 26-31, 2011 in the Troppicana Theater.
